    Gift Drive

    GIFT DRIVE FOR SISTER SCHOOL

    UPDATE: All slots have been filled, but if you would still like to contribute, we are accepting Safeway gift cards for the families and packs of socks as well.

    In this holiday season we would like to acknowledge how fortunate we truly are. Unfortunately, that is not the case for everybody. This year we are running our Toy Drive a little differently. We have reached out to our sister school, Riverside Elementary, to gather information on some of their most needy families and students. They sent us the names of 14 students and asked those families some questions to help us get the perfect items for the children. 

    If you would like to contribute, HERE is a sign up genius for items for each of the 14 children. We are asking that these items be purchased and delivered unwrapped (with the gift number and letter attached) to the office by December 15th so we can get them put together for the families. You will notice a gift number and letter underneath each item. Each child has a number and then the gift also has a letter. Again, please mark the gift number and letter on each gift so we can stay organized. Please consider donating to this cause. 

    Also, if you open the SUG and notice that child 1 has many items chosen but child 14 does not, please keep that in mind so each child can have some gifts under the tree.

    HomeworkLunch Time Help

    We have hired an assistant to help students with assignments during lunch. Mrs. Keeler, a credentialed math teacher will also be present to help students. The location changes each day and is posted in the MPR. If you have missing work and need some help, come on by!

     

    Homework Club

    Homework club has started! The library will be open until 4:00pm on Mondays and Fridays for students to get help on assignments.

    Pick up and Drop Off Procedure Reminders

    The safety of our students, staff, and parents is our number one priority during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-ups. Please review our procedures:

    • Driveway 1 is closed, so please enter campus at the traffic light or the entrance closest to the fire station.

    • Our two drop off/parking areas are the parking lot directly in front of the school (Area 1), and the parking lot adjacent to the track (Area 2).

    *Drop-off/Pick-up is not allowed at the San Ramon Transit Center (“Intermodal”) along Executive Parkway, Bishop Ranch, or Alcosta Blvd.

    Please follow the directions of staff members, be courteous to other drivers, and refrain from using your cell phones.

    If you are interested in being an on-campus parent volunteer, please complete the Signup form, which also includes a link to the district, Be a Mentor site (required for all on-campus volunteers).

    ATTENDANCE POLICY

    If your child will be absent for any reason, please call the attendance line at 925-790-2599 by 9:00 am and provide the following information:

    1. Name of Student (spell last name, slowly and clearly)
    2. Grade
    3. Date(s) of the Absence
    4. Specific reason for the Absence
    5. Your relationship to the Student

    You may notify your student's teachers of the absence, but a phone call to the Attendance Line is still required.

    A Safety Message will go out to parents at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, if your child is marked absent.

    If you have already phoned in your child's absence and still get the message, please disregard the message to contact the school. We may not have been able to clear all messages by the time the automated dialer went out.

     

    If you need to pick up your student early or drop them off late, please go to the attendance window to sign them in or out. There is no need to phone ahead of time to pull your student out. We will get your student out of class once you arrive.  We cannot pull students out of class ahead of time, only once a verified adult has signed them out. 
     

    AR 5113 States that all absences which are not cleared within two days after a student's return to school shall be recorded as unexcused (CUT).

    Student Lunch Drop Offs

    Student lunches can be dropped off in the front office for students to pick up at the beginning of their lunch periods.  Please make sure to communicate with your student before school that you will be dropping lunch off for them so they know to pick up their lunch in the front office. It can sometimes be challenging finding students during their lunch periods with so many students out at once.

    We will no longer be delivering lunches to classrooms as this causes a disruption to our teachers. 

    Please note that the front office is not responsible for any lost or forgotten lunches.

    After completing the application, please call our Counseling office at 925.790.2580 to make an appointment with our staff.

    Iron Horse Middle School was built in 1996 and is located in San Ramon CA. The school provides a rigorous academic program including a flex teaching and learning time twice a week.
