Welcome Letter from our Principal

Dear Jaguar Parents/Guardians:

 

I wanted to extend a “welcome back” message to all of our students and parents. The staff has been preparing for school to start and are excited to meet your children.

 

I would like to extend a special “welcome” to our new students, parents, and families. Whether you are a sixth grader or new to our Iron Horse community, we are very glad to have you here. Iron Horse is a great place for students to learn and grow. Please stop and introduce yourself to me should you ever see me around campus or the community. I would like an opportunity to welcome you in person if at all possible.

Traffic Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Safety of our students, staff, and parents is my number one priority during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-ups. As you prepare for drop-off and pick-ups, please consider the following alternatives to utilizing our front parking lot which can become very busy:

  • IHMS overflow parking lot adjacent to the track
  • San Ramon Transit Center (“Intermodal”) along Executive Parkway – we staff the Transit Center 15 minutes before the start of school and 15 minutes after dismissal.

If you must use the front parking lot, please follow the directions of staff members, be courteous to other drivers, and stay off your cell phones. Safety comes first!

School Loop Information

For our new parents, we use School Loop as an important part of our communication system.  To learn more about School Loop and how it can help parents stay connected to your child’s learning, go to www.powerofjaguar.net and click on the video on the left side of our website.  All students will be shown how to create their School Loop login the first week of school. To register for your parent login, you will need to wait until after the first day of school to login. To create your parent login, you will need your child’s Student Identification (SID) Number, which you can get by logging into the Parent Portal or by simply asking your child. The SID can also be found on your child’s Student Body card which they will receive by the end of the first week of school.

 

 

Back to School Night

I would like to invite all of our parents/guardians to attend our Back to School Night on Thursday, September 1, at 7:00 pm. This will be great night to meet your child’s teachers and get a sneak peek at what they will learn this year.

 

Thank you again for your continued support of Iron Horse. We never take for granted the immense levels of support that we receive from our community. We are very proud of our school and the environment that students, staff, and parents have created here together.

NEW STUDENT Enrollment

1. To enroll, log-on to the district website and complete the on-line application (http://www.srvusd.net/enrollyourchild)    

 

2. After completing the on-line application, please make an appointment with Iron Horse and bring your required documents to your scheduled appointment. Click here to schedule you appointment: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4caba62fa7fd0-newstudent       

Paperwork required at your scheduled appointment:

1.  Print out of your on-line application/summary

2.  Students original birth certificate OR passport

3.  Students immunization records from a physician

4.  Parent / guardians original & current picture ID (Driver’s license, CA issued ID, passport, military ID)

5.     Original mortgage statement, escrow closing papers indicating sale has already closed, grant deed, property tax bill OR lease/rental agreement which states the property address, names of occupants living in San Ramon (students name must appear) and signed by both parties (no copies accepted)

6.    AND a current PG&E or water bill with name and address listed (within 45 days for new home purchases/rentals) unless you just moved in.  In this case it will be requested at a later date.

 

** If you have a current 5th grade enrolled in one of our feeder schools (Bollinger Canyon, Golden View, Montevideo, Twin Creeks or part of Walt Disney Elementary) you do not need to enroll.  Your student will automatically roll into our enrollment for the 2016-17 school year.  If you are from Walt Disney and are not sure if your residential school is Pine Valley or Iron Horse, log-on to the district website and click on “School Locator”.  After entering your residential address it will list the school your child will attend.   

Carpool Incentive Program

Congratulations to Rapeepat Kennedy for winning the $25 gas card drawing for May. All parents/students involved in a carpool here at IHMS are eligible for the monthly drawings.

 

On behalf of the school community, thank you for making it a priority to leave a little earlier and exercising safe driving habits! I continue to encourage our families to participate in carpools to help alleviate traffic. This is a great practice anytime! As an incentive, we are raffling off $25 gas gift cards on a monthly basis. To be entered, please register as a carpool participant using the linked Google Form below.
